Mackenzie Bison Sanctuary : A 10,000 square kilometre reserve, stretching from Great Slave Lake to the Frontier Hwy protects 2000+ bison. It is the world's largest bison herd and was the first successful bison relocation program recorded in North America. [ more information ] Chan Lake Day Use Area : A rest stop and picnic site. There are picnic tables, a kitchen shelter and pit toilets. The park is primarily a summer park and does not operate during the winter months. [ more information ] Kakisa River Day Use Area : Activities enjoyed in the day use area include picnicking, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, boating and fishing. There are picnic tables, picnic shelters, fire pits, a boat launch, firewood, viewing benches and pit toilets on site. [ more information ] Lady Evelyn Falls: Sightseeing destination, activities, campground park and day use area with views of Lady Evelyn Falls located on the Waterfall Highway (Hwy #1) . Activities enjoyed include fishing, picnicking, canoeing, kayaking and boating. [ more information ] Mackenzie River: The longest river in Canada measuring at 1,738 kilometres (1080 miles). Activities include flightseeing, wilderness camping, canoeing, fishing, boating, kayaking, rafting, snowmobiling and ice fishing. Tours and guides in villages. [ more information ] Sambaa Deh Falls: Waterfall sightseeing destination, activities, campground park and day use area with views of two waterfalls -- Sambaa Deh and Coral Falls. Activities enjoyed include fishing, hiking, picnicking, camping and sightseeing [ more information ] Fort Providence Territorial Park: A small campground park and day use area located on the shores of the Mackenzie River near the community of Fort Providence. Camping, sightseeing, birdwatching and fishing are popular. Services include power, picnic shelters, picnic tables, fresh water taps, sani dump, firewood and showers.
