Kayaking: The rivers are remote and the wilderness is scenic. There are rivers with whitewater rapids and there are rivers for leasure paddles. There are remote rivers in the Mackenzie Mountain area providing wilderness experiences while closer ot home the Mackenzie and Bear Rivers are great for day paddles.
Fishing : Fish the Mackenzie River for arctic grayling, northern pike, whitefish and lake trout. Air Tours provide transportation to Great Bear Lake where there are fishing camps providing an opportunity to catch lake trout.
Backpacking: The Canol Trail is a wilderness backpacking adventure for the rugged individual with vast hiking experience and outdoor survival skills. Self guided adventures should be well planned by experienced hikers. There are tours for the not so experienced backpacker.
